DPF / EGR Deletes
DPF and EGR system removal paired with ECU recalibration for off-road, track and competition vehicles.
Off-Road / Competition Use Only
DPF and EGR removal is illegal on road-legal vehicles in the UK. This service is only available for vehicles used exclusively off-road, on track days or in competition. We will discuss your vehicle's intended use before accepting any work.
Eliminate Restriction, Improve Reliability
The DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve are emissions control systems designed for standard road driving. On vehicles used off-road, on track or in competition, these systems can cause more problems than they solve. DPF regeneration cycles do not suit high-load or stop-start driving patterns, leading to blockages and expensive failures. The EGR introduces hot, dirty exhaust gas back into the intake, causing carbon buildup over time.
Removing these systems on a vehicle that is not used on public roads eliminates these reliability concerns and opens up the exhaust flow, allowing the engine to breathe more freely. This is particularly beneficial for competition and track vehicles where every bit of performance matters.
Every DPF or EGR delete is paired with an ECU remap to ensure clean running without fault codes or warning lights. We recalibrate the fuelling, boost and emissions parameters so the engine runs properly with the hardware removed. The original ECU file is always backed up.
What's Included
Delete Options
DPF Delete
Removal of the DPF from the ECU map. Eliminates regeneration cycles, reduces backpressure and prevents expensive DPF blockages on off-road and track vehicles.
EGR Delete
Blanking the EGR valve and removing it from the ECU map. Stops exhaust gas being recirculated into the intake, eliminating carbon buildup and improving throttle response.
Combined Package
DPF and EGR delete together with a comprehensive ECU remap. The most popular option for competition and track vehicles that want maximum reliability and performance.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Removing or tampering with a DPF or EGR system on a road-legal vehicle is illegal under the Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations. The vehicle will fail its MOT. We only carry out DPF and EGR deletes on vehicles that are used exclusively off-road, on track days, or in competition. We will ask about your vehicle's intended use before accepting any work.
On off-road and competition vehicles, the DPF restricts exhaust flow and can cause reliability issues. Regeneration cycles are not suited to the stop-start or high-load driving patterns typical of off-road and track use, which can lead to blockages and expensive repairs. Removal eliminates these issues entirely for vehicles that are not used on public roads.
The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve recirculates a portion of exhaust gas back into the intake to reduce NOx emissions. Over time, this can cause carbon buildup in the intake manifold, particularly on diesel engines. On off-road and competition vehicles, removing the EGR and recalibrating the ECU eliminates this issue and can improve throttle response.
Yes, always. Removing the DPF or EGR without recalibrating the ECU will trigger fault codes, warning lights and potentially limp mode. The remap tells the ECU that the component has been removed and adjusts the fuelling and emissions parameters accordingly. We always pair the physical removal with an ECU remap as a single job.
The ECU remap can be reversed by restoring the original file. However, the physical removal of DPF or EGR components would need to be reinstalled separately by a mechanic. We always keep a backup of your original ECU file.
